1 · Who we are
This policy
This policy explains what personal information Rise North Ltd (trading as Rise) collects through this website and in the course of our work, why, and what rights you have over it. We collect only what we need to reply to you and to deliver the work you book.
Who we are
Rise North Ltd is the controller of your personal information. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 12305777), registered office 6 Westmoreland Street, Harrogate, HG1 5AT.
Contact
For anything about your data, email enquiries@risenorth.co.uk or call 01423 601162.
2 · What we collect and why
Contact form
Your name, email address and message, plus your company, phone number and project address if you choose to give them. We use these only to reply to your enquiry.
Quote builder
Your name, email address, phone number, the shoot location, your project brief, the services and dates you choose, and your company if you give it. We use these to prepare your quote, check availability and arrange the shoot, including checking the airspace at the location for drone work.
Email, phone and WhatsApp
If you contact us directly, we keep what you send us so we can reply and keep a record of what was agreed.
Clients
If you book with us, we keep your contact details, project details, invoices and payment records, and the correspondence about the job.
The Can I Fly tool
The postcode you type is sent from your browser to postcodes.io, a free postcode service, to suggest matching postcodes and find the location. Our server then receives only that location’s coordinates to check the airspace. We don’t store the postcode or the result, and the tool doesn’t ask for your name or any other detail.
Website hosting
Like any website, our host (Vercel) records basic technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. It uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure, and keeps it only for a short period.
People in our photography and film
Our shoots focus on property, but people can occasionally appear in photos, video or drone footage. If you believe you appear in our work and want it removed or obscured, contact us and we’ll deal with it promptly.
3 · Our lawful basis
Preparing a quote you’ve asked for
Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
Delivering and invoicing work you’ve booked
Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
Keeping financial records
Legal obligation under tax and company law (Article 6(1)(c)).
General enquiries and website security
Our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business (Article 6(1)(f)).
People appearing in our photography
Our legitimate interests in producing the work our clients commission (Article 6(1)(f)).
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information, we don’t use it for automated decision-making, and we won’t add you to a marketing list because you used our forms.
5 · How long we keep it
Enquiries and quote requests
If they don’t lead to a booking, deleted within 6 months of our last contact, and usually much sooner.
Client and financial records
6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as tax and company law require.
Website server logs
A short period set by our host, then deleted automatically.
7 · Your rights
What you can ask for
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that’s wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to how we use it
- ask for information you gave us to be transferred to you or someone else
How to use them
Email enquiries@risenorth.co.uk. It’s free, and we’ll respond within one month. Some rights have limits, for example where we must keep records by law, and we’ll explain if one applies.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first and we’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
8 · General
Keeping it secure
